OLIVIERS & CO PRODUCER
Mario Di Lorenzo
The name Disisa derives from the Arabic word “Aziz,” meaning “splendid” a name that reflects the beauty and magnificence of the landscape. Nestled among the rolling hills characteristic of the Monreale countryside, the Disisa estate stretches from the Belice Valley to the Jato Valley. The origins of the Disisa estate date back to the Norman period (12th century), when King William II donated it to the Archdiocese of Monreale. Since then, the region has been known for its vineyards and olive groves. The Di Lorenzo family, owners for nearly 200 years, has successfully combined tradition with modern technology to offer us an oil with incomparable flavors.
THE OLIVE GROVE
The Belice Valley region has been renowned since ancient times for its mild climate and lush valleys that gently slope down toward the sea. The fertility of the soil, the favorable climate, the warmth of the sun, and the passion of the people for cultivation have contributed, year after year, to the creation of olive oils with incomparable aromas. The olives are carefully picked and selected by hand, then immediately transported and pressed in the mill at a carefully controlled temperature. The oil is not filtered to preserve its exceptional aroma; it undergoes only a natural settling process.
